Lot Under Recall: Lot 22853
Lot Distribution Dates: Began on 10/24/23 and ended on 12/06/23.
Recalled Products: Viva Duck for Dogs (Ground), Viva Duck for Dogs (Chunked), Viva Duck for Cats, and Viva Pure Duck (for cats and dogs)
Recall Reason: Possibility of contamination with Harmful Bacteria; Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.
Product Description: The recalled products come in frozen 1lb bricks in clear vacuum packaging.
Recall Instructions
Please take immediate action if you have the affected products. Contact Viva for assistance and follow proper disposal and sanitation procedures. Customers are advised to,
- Check their freezer for any remaining products from Lot 22853.
- Fill out the response form provided by Viva for a refund (if your have products from the recalled lot).
- Refrain from feeding the recalled products.
- In case you have already fed your pet the recalled product, visit the vet for a check up. And watch for symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (including bloody diarrhea), abdominal cramping, and fever. Seek medical attention if you or your pet experience any of these symptoms.
- Dispose of the contaminated food safely.
- Sanitize and clean your kitchen, food bowl, your hand and any surfaces that may have come in contact with the contaminated product.
- Do not sell or donate recalled food items.
